​​MJ is currently seeking qualified individuals for the following positions in Clifton Park, New York:

Bridge Design Engineer

MJ has an immediate opening for a  FULL-TIME BRIDGE DESIGN ENGINEER within our Clifton Park, New York office:

​

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Design steel and concrete bridges.

  • Develop construction plans and documents.

  • Develop Engineer’s Estimates.

  • Perform load analysis of ordinary and complex bridge elements.

  • Perform bridge inspection services.

  • Gain knowledge of NYSDOT and NYSTA standards.

  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project team members, including sub-consultants and other disciplines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college with 0 to 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Registration as an Intern Engineer (I.E.) in NY is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the use of Bentley Microstation and Microsoft Office.  Preferred experience in STAAD, MERLIN DASH and MathCAD.

  • Ability to work with multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules. 

  • Willing to work overtime.

Structural Engineer

MJ has an immediate opening for a  FULL-TIME BUILDING STRUCTURAL ENGINEER within our Clifton Park, New York office:

​

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work within a project team to support structural projects from initial project programming up to and through construction.

  • Analysis and design of building structures (reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, concrete masonry, wood and steel).

  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with project team members, including sub-consultants and other disciplines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college with 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Understanding of NYS building codes and regulations.

  • Technical knowledge in the use of AutoCAD.

  • Technical knowledge in BIM.

  • Ability to work with multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules. 

  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Civil/Site Engineer

MJ has an opening for a  FULL-TIME CIVIL/SITE ENGINEER within our Clifton Park, New York office:

 

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work within multiple design teams to support civil design projects from initial project programming through construction.

  • Prepare project plans, including general plans, typical sections, grading and erosion control, drainage, utility, and signing and striping to support project approvals and construction.

  • Prepare technical reports including design reports, drainage reports, bid documents and cost estimating.

  • Complete field work including testing, inventory and inspections.

  • Participate in construction administration support including shop drawing review, reviewing/responding to RFIs, and periodic site inspections.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0 to 2 years of civil engineering experience, with focus in land development.

  • BS in Civil from an ABET accredited college.

  • Registration as an Intern Engineer in NY is preferred.

  • Understanding of NYSDOT regulations.

  • Proficient in CAD design tools for the preparation of plans and drawings. 

  • Ability to work within multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules. 

Transportation Engineer

MJ has an opening for a  FULL-TIME TRANSPORTATION/HIGHWAY ENGINEER within our Clifton Park, New York office:

 

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work within multiple design teams to support transportation projects from initial project programming through construction.

  • Prepare project plans, including general plans, typical sections, grading and erosion control, drainage, utility, and signing and striping to support project approvals and construction.

  • Prepare technical reports including design reports, drainage reports, bid documents and cost estimating.

  • Complete field work including testing, inventory and inspections.

  • Participate in construction administration support including shop drawing review, reviewing/responding to RFIs, and periodic site inspections.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering and consulting with focus in transportation

  • BS in Civil from an ABET accredited college.

  • Registration as an Intern Engineer in NY is preferred, eligibility for registration as a P.E. is desired.

  • Understanding of NYSDOT and NYSTA regulations.

  • Proficient in the use of MicroStation as a design tool for the preparation of plans/drawings.

  • Ability to work within multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules. 

Water/Wastewater Engineer

MJ has an opening for a  FULL-TIME WATER/WASTEWATER ENGINEER within our Clifton Park, New York office:

 

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work within a project team to support water/wastewater projects from initial project programming through construction.

  • Prepare design calculations and technical specifications for a variety of water/wastewater projects, including utility pipelines, storage facilities, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.

  • Prepare project plans including site plans, grading and erosion control plans, utility plans and profiles, and process water and wastewater plans to support project approvals and construction.

  • Prepare technical reports including engineer’s reports, utility master plans, capital improvement plans, condition assessments, and feasibility studies for water and sanitary systems.

  • Conduct field investigations to assess site conditions, inspect facilities and provide engineering support during design and construction.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0 to 2 years of civil engineering experience.

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited college.

  • Registration as an Intern Engineer in NY is preferred.

  • Ability to work with multiple teams and meet demanding schedules. 

  • Excellent technical writing and  communication skills.

Survey Field Technicians

MJ has openings for FULL-TIME SURVEY TECHNICIANS within our Clifton Park, New York office:

 

SURVEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Field crew oversight and management

  • Utility and right of way record research

  • Construction stakeout

  • Boundary, Topographic, Transportation, and Utility survey

  • 3D laser scanning and photogrammetric and mobile LiDAR control

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No experience in land surveying required, will train the right candidate(s)

  • U.S. Citizen with a valid driver’s license

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Highly motivated and detail oriented

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Punctual

  • Ability to multi-task and follow directions

  • General mathematics skills

  • Familiarity with the following helpful but not required: total stations, data collectors, GPS equipment, robotic instruments, use of static laser scanners (their operation and basic processing, MicroStation and/or  AutoCAD platforms, and general traverse reduction and computation

Survey AutoCAD Technician

MJ has an opening for a  FULL-TIME AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN in our SURVEY DEPARTMENT within our Clifton Park, New York office:

AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Boundary, Topographic, and Construction stakeout

  • Reading, understanding, and computing construction stakeout points

  • Conducting volume calculations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in Land Surveying and civil/site work, including research, computations, field experience in boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout, total stations, and data collections

  • Associates degree required

  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation

  • Experience with surveying transportation, municipal and/or state highway, bridge, steel erection, residential stakeout, and railroad projects

  • Ability to work within multiple design teams and  meet demanding schedules

  • Willing to work overtime

Mapping/GIS

MJ has an opening for a  FULL-TIME ENGINEER in our MAPPING/GIS DATA MANAGEMENT GROUP within our Clifton Park, New York office:

​

ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work within a design team to support MJ’s LiDAR Mapping and Data Acquisition Group from initial project programming through data collection and analysis.

  • Assist MJ’s GIS department with implementation of mobile LiDAR acquisition utilizing multiple platforms including vehicle-mounted equipment and drones.

  • Participate in continuous research and development initiatives to streamline and compile the data acquired for design projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus in land development.

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited college.

  • Understanding of computer software and hardware applications related to camera imagery and 3D modeling.

  • General skills related to electrical, computer and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to retrofit and adapt multiple platform levels (scanners and camera interface) with various power supply and laptop configurations.
