Love being outside? Join our team! MJ’s Long Island office is seeking full-time survey field personnel.  No experience in land surveying necessary, willing to train the right candidate.  This position will operate as part of a two-person field crew. Work operations will commence in Long Island and within the NYC boroughs. 

MJ handles a wide range of project types for public and private sector clients.  Projects within this position will include, but are not limited to:

• Utility and right of way record research

• Boundary survey

• Topographic survey

• Transportation survey

• Utility survey

• 3D laser scanning

• Photogrammetric and mobile LIDAR control

Familiarity with the following is helpful but not necessary:

• Total Stations

• Data Collectors

• GPS Equipment

• Robotic instruments

• General traverse reduction and computation

The candidate must possess the following characteristics/knowledge:

• U.S. Citizen

• Valid driver’s license

• High School Diploma or GED

• Highly motivated

• Detail-oriented

• Strong interpersonal and organization skills

• ability to multi-task

• ability to follow directions

• general mathematical skills
