MJ was responsible for the design and construction of two 5-million-gallon concrete water storage tanks, a 15-mgd booster pump station, 3,800 linear feet of 16 and 24-inch transmission main, I&C system, tank mixing, chemical feed systems, flow control, cross-connection control, and level monitoring.
MJ completed a water study and associated improvements for the replacement of more than 8,000 linear feet of water main, replacement of a fire pump, electrical service modifications, and the replacement of sprinkler feed lines and hydrants. The project was completed in multiple phases.
MJ completed the design for a replacement stormwater box culvert which conveyed the Schemerhorn Creek under Weaver Street and through Interstate 890 right of way. As part of the design MJ also designed a sanitary sewer inverted siphon to deal with minimal vertical clearances of a major trunk sewer.

Water/Wastewater Design
The planet’s water resources are precious and need to be protected and properly managed for future generations. Through sound engineering practices, safe drinking water can flow from our taps and lakes, rivers, and streams can be free of pollution.
Our specialists are highly skilled in water source development, transmission and distribution, treatment and storage. MJ is also experienced in the design of wastewater collection and pumping systems, on-site treatment systems, inflow/infiltration analysis, and infrastructure rehabilitation. The firm has worked closely with federal, state, and funding agencies to foster successful projects. We believe that by building a partnership with a community and taking a team approach, we can develop a cost-effective solution to meet your water and wastewater needs and protect our natural resources.

MJ’s water utility engineering services include: feasibility studies; source development; district formation; facilities planning/design; vulnerability assessments; funding assistance; operation & maintenance; asset inventory; GIS utility records; facility start-up; system mapping; hydraulic modeling; instrumentation/controls; process evaluation; permitting; regulatory compliance; and construction phase services.
