LEADERSHIP

Michael D. Panichelli, PE, Principal/President

 

As president, MIke oversees MJ's staff, as well as design and quality-control of MJ's civil, transportation and structural engineering projects. He is responsible for preparing MJ's contractual agreements, assignment of staffing, project scheduling and budgeting. Mike has 28 years of engineering experience, 25 of them with MJ. He is a graduate of Drexel University.

Eric S. Williams, PE, Principal/Vice President

​

Eric serves as MJ's vice president and director of project management. He is responsible for the day-to-day operation and coordination of MJ's transportation, environmental and construction inspection services. Eric brings to the position more than 23 years of experience in project design, development and QA/QC review, with 21 of those years at MJ. He is a graduate of Union College.

Joseph G. Malinowski, PLS, Principal/Director of Survey Services

​

Joe manages MJ's survey group and monitors all work performed by MJ's survey field and office personnel. He has 40 years of survey experience, 26 of them with MJ. Joe serves on the executive board of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors. He is a graduate of the SUNY Environmental Science & Forestry Ranger School.

Brian J. Cooper, PE, Senior Associate/Director of Engineering

Brian serves as the firm's director of engineering and is responsible for oversight, mentoring and quality control of MJ's engineering and GIS services. Brian has more than 27 years of experience in transportation, civil, site, utility and water/wastewater treatment projects, as well as QA/QC review and implementation, with 23 of those years here at MJ. He is a graduate of Union College.

Christopher M. Dooley, PE, Senior Associate/Engineering Group Manager ​

Chris is responsible for implementing and maintaining MJ's engineering objectives and initiatives, as well as leading and directing the work of MJ's engineering group. He has 22 years of project management and structural engineering design experience in the governmental, institutional, industrial and private sectors. Chris is a graduate of Clarkson University.

Carrie L. Dooley, PE, Senior Associate/Director of Water & Wastewater Engineering

Carrie is responsible for overseeing MJ's water and wastewater group, which has tripled in size since coming to MJ. She has over 21 years of professional experience in the civil and environmental engineering fields. She is well versed in drinking water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution, as well as wastewater treatment, collection, and infrastructure rehabilitation. Carrie also has experience with district formation, permitting, and funding for municipal water and wastewater projects. She is a graduate of Clarkson University.

Joel Bianchi, PE, Senior Associate/Director of Municipal Engineering

Joel is responsible for overseeing MJ's municipal contracts throughout New York State. He has completed project management, infrastructure and utility design for numerous public facilities and has over 23 years of combined professional experience in both engineering and surveying. Joel has represented municipalities on both the policy and planning board level. He is a graduate of Clarkson University.

James Easton, PE, Senior Associate/Director of Land Development

Jamie has over 21 years of civil and transportation engineering experience. His background includes developing and evaluating alternatives for civil site plan design for buildings and municipal structures.  In addition, he has extensive experience in stormwater design, permitting, public involvement, agency coordination and construction support. Jamie holds an MS in business administration and a BS in civil engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.

Becky Cahill, LEED AP, Associate/Director of Marketing

Becky works with MJ’s leadership team to develop and implement a marketing program targeted to meet MJ’s long-term business goals. She has been with MJ for 14 years and has seen the firm grow from 30 to more than 100 employees. Becky has helped the firm to expand its services and diversify its market sectors. Cahill is a LEED accredited professional. She holds an MBA from the University at Albany and a BA in english literature and rhetoric from Binghamton University.

Jaclyn Hakes, AICP, Associate/Director of Planning

Jackie spearheaded the formation of MJ's Planning Group. With 18 years of experience, Jackie has assisted communities and private clients across the State in balancing land use, transportation, environmental and quality of life issues through consensus-based planning. She is a certified community planner with expertise in comprehensive planning, downtown revitalization, complete streets, zoning, brownfield redevelopment, public facilitation, grant writing, SEQR and NEPA. Jackie holds a BA in environmental studies and geography from Binghamton University and a MRP from the University at Albany.

Lisa Wallin, PE, Associate/Senior Transportation Engineer

Lisa has been with MJ for 11 years and has been responsible for some of the firm’s largest transportation projects to-date, including Reconstruction of Kew Gardens Interchange, Rehabilitation of the Major Deegan Expressway, and NYSDOT’s Design/Build Bundled Bridges Program in Ulster County. She is a licensed engineer with 14 years of professional experience providing civil, transportation and environmental engineering design and management services for local, State and federal projects. Lisa holds a BS in environmental engineering and MS in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo.

Michael Koterba, Associate/Manager of 3D Laser Scanning & Geospatial Services

​

Mike is responsible for the development of all high definition scanning, GIS and all other mapping and modeling assignments, from the daily coordination of all field and office activities to the reduction and subsequent processing of the collected data. He has a knack for identifying efficient and cost-effective use of technology that adds value to MJ’s data collection and analysis process. Mike holds an AAS in land surveying from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a BA in political science from Hunter College.
