Ribbon Cutting Held for SUNY Administration Building Site Upgrades

The completion of a $3.5 million upgrade to the State University of New York's Administration Building in Albany was announced this morning at a ribbon cutting ceremony. MJ was responsible for site/civil engineering and landscape architecture. This four-phased improvement plan included new entryways and walking surfaces, landscaping, signage, lighting, amphitheater seating, and other hardscape improvements. Other project elements included a snow melt system beneath the sidewalks, new ADA-compliant ramps, an irrigation system and lighting in the plaza lawn areas and new banner poles.

State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher made the announcement alongside downtown Albany business and community leaders, before cutting the ribbon on SUNY Plaza’s recently renovated front lawn and main entrance. “SUNY is fortunate to have inherited this stunning building and surrounding property more than 35 years ago, and we are proud to be its steward on behalf of the entire university system, downtown Albany community, and the state of New York,” said Chancellor Zimpher.
