Jenny M. Lippmann, PE is Presented ASCE Meritorious Service Award


MJ's Jenny M. Lippmann, PE was recently presented with the 2016 Meritorious Service Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Mohawk-Hudson Section. The Meritorious Service Award is an honor presented to ASCE members who have made a long-standing contribution to the society and its initiatives. Jenny was presented the award at the ASCE Mohawk-Hudson Section 78th Annual Dinner Meeting on April 20th in Albany.

Jenny is currently a project engineering at MJ. She has over 12 years of experience in the civil engineering field and has developed a strong technical expertise in stormwater management and drainage facilities analysis and design. She is currently part of the design and management team for the reconstruction of the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York.

Jenny began her involvement in ASCE while at Union College, taking on board positions of the Student Chapter including Secretary, Vice President and President. Over the past 12 years, Jenny has served in various positions on the Mohawk-Hudson Section board. She began her service on the board from 2004-2008 as the Younger Member Chairperson, and progressed as the Secretary from 2009-2012, as the President-Elect in 2013, President in 2014, First Past President in 2015, and currently the outgoing Second Past President. During her time, she attended Student Chapter events at RPI, and has judged the Mead Competition at the Annual Student Conference at West point and RPI. She has also volunteered as a moderator for the Capital Region's Celebration of Engineer's Week and as a reviewer of student scholarship applications.

In addition to ASCE, Jenny is the Director of the Educating Girls for Engineering (EDGE) Program at Union College, held every summer to encourage high school juniors and seniors from the country to consider careers in engineering.
